The life of animals was imposed on the pleasure of people in this historic law. Spain sets the pace for the rest of the countries and the protection of wildlife.
Among the most controversial topics in the world, surely there is that of hunting animals. People have already reached a point in our modern existence where we can produce our own food, which includes raising pets with the purpose that they end their lives serving as food. Despite this, in many sectors of the planet, it is still common to hear of people who hunt wild animals.
Those who defend it, point out its relative benefits for the environment, as well as that in theory, it is something more ethical than ranching. That a person hunts an animal in order to procure meat for himself and his family, can be defended as something more convenient than having hundreds of cows or chickens living in poor conditions and wasting environmental resources. The problem is when this is extrapolated to those who hunt extensively.
This is why Spain decided to put an end to this situation. Reinforcing a legislature that was already in place, the European country decided that the hunting of wild animals, both commercial and sport, was prohibited in national parks:
"It is an advance, because now all the regulations approved under the table can be used to continue hunting," says this environmentalist, who affects the impacts of hunting activity in these protected areas, such as the persecution and elimination of predators, population imbalances, habitat fragmentation or lead contamination from cartridges. "
–Miguel Ángel Hernández, from Ecologists in Action, for El País -
So that this decision does not have such disastrous costs for those who have invested in sport hunting, law 30/2014 establishes that those who have home or private spaces, could request a refund for the cost of these from the state. If they do not pursue this, or refuse to accept the regulations, their spaces may simply be expropriated.
Likewise, it is rare to see that a hunter who comes out posing with the antlers of the deer he hunted, assures that it is "to control the population." At times, you just have to be honest and accept reality, even if it is unfavorable to you.
